The Alle Kiski Strong Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce it has hired Colleen Felentzer to serve as its Executive Director.
Ms. Felentzer is a resident of Washington Twp., Westmoreland County. She has spent the last thirteen years as the Director of Communications and Events for the Allegheny League of Municipalities. Ms. Felentzer will begin her tenure at the helm of the Chamber on June 22, 2015.
“The Chamber has been looking for an Executive Director since March and we reviewed resumes from over 90 applicants,” said Frank Amato, Jr., Chairman of the Alle Kiski Strong Board of Directors. “This is part of the board positioning Alle Kiski Strong for the future,” Amato continued. “We are excited about what Colleen has to offer the Chamber and its members and we look forward to continuing our mission together,” Amato concluded.
“Colleen’s experience speaks for itself. Her definition and approach to leadership and planning were on par with what the board was seeking,” said Curt Marino, 1st Vice Chair of the Board and member of the Search Committee. “We are confident that, with Colleen’s leadership, we will continue the growth and engagement of the Alle Kiski Strong Chamber,” Marino continued. “As the sixth largest Chamber in the Pittsburgh Region, we have a tremendous opportunity to be a positive voice for our members, our communities, and the region,” Marino concluded.
In her own words, Ms. Felentzer seconded Marino’s thoughts: “The last 13 years with ALOM have given me great insight into how much work and effort local governments put into making their communities run. However, in order to experience real growth, communities need thriving businesses, both big and small, within their borders. The Chamber plays an integral part in this successful equation. I am very excited to join this wonderful organization, and look forward to what we can accomplish together.”
Chamber members will have a chance to meet Ms. Felentzer on July 21, 2015 at Willowbrook Country Club. Members should watch their emails or check the Chamber webpage, www.allekiskistrong.com, for event time and RSVP details.
